Always LOVED the original with the one & only soul powerhouse Alice Russel & Mr Scruff (who's one of my top 3 DJ's in the World). He asked if I would like to take a crack at remixing it & I remember being so worried to touch it that I didn't even attempt it until a year after its release. Overthinking is such a creative block, it happens sometime & it really happening this time. So you know the saying, "I get by with a little help from my friends" & I called Zeb to come over & mess with this with me. I was thinking of the fat nasty groove of "Witness the Fitness" & we got to work. I added some Hip Hop lyrics with the Real Live Show to give it that Hip Hop Soul feel of the 90's, but Mr Scruff prefered the Alice only vocal version. Don;t worry like I said, I never waste a good take, so I took the vocals & made the song "Gimme the Music." Well, this is a homage to MUSIC how it changed & saved & augmented so many people's lives throughout history.
